On my pioneer i had to loosen the center adjustment nut three full turns from the factory specified adjustment. Loosen the center adjustment nut if the differential stays in "turf" mode.
Tighten the center adjustment nut if the differential stays in "2wd" mode. While rotating the rear tires, move the differential mode selector between "turf" and "2wd", observe the dash panel indicator (ignition switch on, ENGINE OFF !!!). To test the adjustment place the transmission range selector in neutral, (ENGINE OFF !) then adjust the center adjustment nut so that the rearward face of the cylindrical pin is located between the index marks on the selector arm. Refer to picture 2, adjust the outboard adjustment nuts so that the selector arm is positioned between the lugs cast in to the selector case. Remove the four 10mm shoulder bolts to open the selector case. Place the transmission range selector in park and the differential mode selector in "2wd".
